Show Ishq Subhan Allah Which Is Based On Triple Talaq Faces Opposition From Muslim Groups

Show Ishq Subhan Allah Which Is Based On Triple Talaq Faces Opposition From Muslim Groups
Earlier Supreme court gave its decision regarding Triple Talaq and now Zee TV has recently come up with a new show which highlights triple talaq topic in Ishq Subhan Allah. The show revolves around the characters Kabeer and Zara, who are both followers of Islam and happen to interpret the holy Quraan very differently. Kabeer is a Maulvi who abides by the widely followed, traditional moral rules prescribed by the Shariyat board while Zara is a well-educated young woman who applies the teachings of Allah to a logical way of life-based on modern fundamentals of practicality, gender equality and justice.
However, since the show is related to religion, few Muslim priests were not happy with the concept. The Shariat Board Chief, Imam Organizations and Jamiat Ulama-e-Hind have also raised questions on the show since it is based on a religious concept. Raising objections to it, Ulama’s in Muzzafarnagar said that they will discuss the issue with Darul Uloom and take further course of action.
At the show launch event, Eisha Singh had said, “When a woman is asked for his consent at the time of marriage, then why not at the time of divorce? They (men) do not ask women. This is wrong. In this case, both should get equal rights.”
The producer of the show Dheeraj Kumar said at the launch, “The Holy Quran, the religious text of Islam, is perceived and interpreted differently by different people. Ishq Subhan Allah presents the story of Kabeer and Zara whose marriage reaches the point of talaaq because of stark differences in the way they interpret the same religion. Though our nation is slowly taking its course towards progression, patriarchy still seems to be in dominance and a women’s point of view or consent continues to be treated as secondary – even when it comes to the most crucial decisions of life such as marriage. With Ishq Subhan Allah, we want to break the stereotype and urge people to take a rational stance in matters of religion. We want to spread the message that adherence to religion cannot come at the cost of compromising practicality. Instead, one must apply the core fundamentals of one’s religion to move forward in life. We have had the privilege to associate with Zee TV in the past and we hope to strengthen our association with the channel through this new offering.”
Produced by Dheeraj Kumar’s production house Creative Eye Limited, the show will go on-air starting from the 14th March and will air every Monday to Friday at 10 pm on Zee TV channel.
