The flick, Sonu Ke Titu Ki Sweety, has already turned out to be a big blockbuster of 2018.
The actor Kartik Aaryan has become a big star.
Whilst the movie was criticized as a woman hater, the actor is not frightened of being tagged as one. Aaryan even claimed that he would apply the same (as Sonu did to Titu) thing to his real-life best buddy.
When questioned if Kartik Aaryan would ruin his best buddy’s married relationship the way he did in the flick, Kartik answered, “I wouldn’t say Sunny destroyed his friend’s marriage. I’d say he protected his best friend from a gold digger. And yes, I’d do the same if a push comes to shove. I don’t fear being judged as a misogynist. Because that was my character as Sonu that they are judging, not me, Thankfully the audience is flocking to see the film without getting judgmental about the gender equations in the film.”
The said flick has become this year’s second major earner after Bhansali’s Padmaavat. In addition, the flick has also crossed the earnings of Akki’s Padman.
“Would I do another ‘Sonu Ke Titu Ki Sweety?” I’d do it as many times as Luv Ranjan wants me to.” Kartik Aaryan also said.
“More than my own happiness it’s my mother’s happiness that makes me happy. I was with my mother at a mall when our car was suddenly surrounded by people. Initially, she loved seeing her son getting mobbed. Then the crowds started swelling and they began to push, shove and tilt the car. My mom’s joy turned into anxiety,” he added up.
It has really been an apprehensive time for Kartik. The actor boasted of the smart looks and complete knowledge about dancing and acting. In spite of all that, his success had been postponed.
“When Pyaar Ka Punchnaama released, it turned the super hit movie of 2011 and my long monologue on what women want, became a rage and I thought I had arrived. But no, God had other plans. It’s finally happening with SKTKS. And you know that? I am glad it’s taken its own sweet time to come my way,” the actor wonders.
Kartik is full of praise for his film director.
“Luv Ranjan stood by me through all these years. It takes a lot of guts to stand by someone you believe in when that someone is not a big star.”
