Dalljiet Kaur Changed Her Name To Deepa, Says She Wants People To Associate Her As Deepa

Dalljiet Kaur had surprised her fans when she announced her new name on social media. She took to Instagram and announced this. Her original name was Dalljeet Kaur and she changed it to Deepa.

In an exclusive interview, the Iss Pyaar Ko Kya Naam Doon actress revealed the reason behind the step.

Dalljiet Kaur has taken on a new name and announced it on social media a few hours ago alongside an adorable picture of her and son, Jaydon.  She captioned the photograph, “#Deepa #Jaydon #DeepaJaydon”

People got extremely curious to know why did she take this step. When a few people asked her about the same, she said, “My mom suggested the idea. She wanted me to keep a simple and homely name and we went with Deepa.”She added, “It’s my nickname. I was born on Deepawali and instantly everyone said that Laxmi has come home. Post that everyone began calling me that. It was a name given from the heart without thinking too much. It feels very personal when someone calls me Deepa. Upon asking that she has taken a step after spending a substantial amount of time in the TV industry, if she is able to relate to it. She said, “Absolutely. I think more than half of the people in this industry and my life already call me Deepa. It will be awesome to have everyone call me by one name now.”

When she was said that she was more popular as Dalljeet Kaur amongst her fans, would it not be confusing for them. She said. “I think people who follow me will know this through your portal. And, as far as the industry is concerned, more than half of them call me that anyway.”She was even asked if she would be changing her name in the official documents too. To which she replied, “I haven’t decided that yet. It takes a lot of time and effort.”
