You don’t need to be a travel blogger for this. Even if you have travelled a little in your life, you might have noticed that milestones have different colours.
Did you ever think why is it so? Of course, it is not to provide different shades or make the milestones look beautiful. The different colours used for the milestones are actually colour codes. These colour codes reflect the kind of road and highway you are travelling on.
1. Yellow Colour
While traveling, you might have seen yellow and white colored milestones. This means you are on a national highway.
2. Green Colour
While travelling if you spot a green colour strip on the milestones, it means you are travelling on State Highways.
3. Black, Blue and White Colour
If you spot a black, blue or white colour milestones on the roadside, it means you are travelling in a city or district.
4. Orange Colour
Orange colour milestones are used in villages. These milestones are found on village roads that come under Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana
Now when you travel and see milestones on the way, you will understand what these colours talk to you.
