The fever of FIFA Football World Cup is taking the world in its grip and speculations and predictions are being made about the finalists of the tournament.
The former captain of England David Beckham (43) has also made a prediction regarding the two teams that will face each other in the finals of the World Cup.
Any guesses?
Well, in David’s opinion, it will be England that will face Argentina in the finals.
He said this while taking part in a promotional event in China,
“I believe Argentina will play against England in the final. I think obviously my choice would be England to win the competition, but that’s me being biased and passionate about my country.”
For David’s prediction to come true, the England team under the leadership of Harry Kane has to exceed everybody’s expectations so that they can give a fight to the Argentinian team playing under the leadership of Lionel Messi.
David once let his country down in 1998 when in the World Cup quarter-final, he kicked Diego Simeone and as a result, he was shown the red card.
The present team of England is not weighed down with expectations in the manner in which Beckham’s team was burdened but the former captain has some good things to say about this team with a word of caution.
He said,
“I’m very happy that we won the first game in the group. England is a very young team, they don’t have a lot of experience yet and the journey of the World Cup will become harder and harder because there are many good teams in the tournament.”
