Bollywood and politics are strongly connected. We have seen many films that bring forth the issues that the nation is facing and how politics affect them. There have been many incidences when Bollywood stars took a step ahead to join politics. But, this time, it’s the other way round. Prime Minister, Narendra Modi’s much-talked-about meeting with Bollywood stars garnered the attention of everyone. The meeting with PM Modi took place in New Delhi.
In the first week of January 2019, Bollywood actors, actresses and directors went to New Delhi to meet Prime Minister. This meeting grabbed everyone’s attention as the agenda of the same was not known. Siddharth Malhotra opened up about the meeting with the Prime Minister at recent media interaction. He said that the Prime Minister wanted to meet because he wanted to discuss how films are influencing the youth.

He further added that PM Modi was very happy with the way in which film industry is promoting Indian culture on the global platform.
A meeting on the similar ground was held in the month of December 2018 as a result of which the GST rates on the tickets were slashed. It came as good news for both, the makers and the audiences.
This meeting was organized by Karan Johar and Mahavir Jain. The team that went to meet Prime Minister, Narendra Modi included Ekta Kapoor, Siddharth Malhotra, Alia Bhatt, Ranbir Kapoor, Ranveer Singh, Karan Johar, Ayushmann Khurrana, Varun Dhawan, Vicky Kaushal, Rajkumar Rao, Ajay Devgan, Rohit Shetty, and Bhumi Pednekar.
