It has been over 15 years that Saif Ali Khan and Amrita Singh got divorced (2004). So far the two have maintained an eerie silence and never spoke about what went wrong in their marriage. Back in the day, when the duo married, they had a thirteen-year age gap. The two stayed in the marriage for 13 years and then split up. The duo has two kids: Ibrahim Ali Khan Pataudi and Sara Ali Khan. After divorcing Amrita, Saif married Kareena Kapoor and the couple was blessed with a baby boy on December 20, 2016.
For Sara Ali Khan and Ibrahim Ali Khan, their dad’s second marriage has never been an awkward moment as the two share a great rapport with Kareena. In a recent interview with Karan Johar in popular talk show Koffee With Karan, Sara said that Saif has neither asked them to accept Kareena as their second mother nor made them uncomfortable in any way.
Recently, Sara Ali Khan made her Bollywood debut in Abhishek Kapoor’s film Kedarnath. Sara has already made her presence felt in the film industry with two films, Kedarnath and Simmba. Not only her performance was appreciated by the audience, the critics too were all gaga and called her a rare combination of beauty and brains.
When asked about the divorce of their parents and how she dealt with it, Sara said that they were not happy together, but they are now, individually, which is all that matters for her.
She said:
“It’s not nice to live in a home where people are not happy. They’re such nice, positive, bindaas and cool people individually. Together, they’re not. They realised that. And now I have two comfortable and secure homes.”
She also said that Amrita also approved of her attending Saif’s marriage with Kareena.
She added:
“When dad told me they’re getting married, I ran to mom asking what will I wear. Mom was so supportive that she was obsessing on what earrings I should wear.”
On the personal front, Sara has said that she wanted to date Kartik Aaryan. She had also been vocal about her crush on the Sonu Ke Titu Ki Sweety star. On the professional front, she has reportedly been roped in for Imtiaz Ali’s next, which is apparently a remake of Love Aaj Kal.
