Ayushmann has proved himself in each and every field of media. Right from being a host, to singing and then acting and dancing as well. He has proved his singing skills with hit numbers like ‘Pani Da Rang’, ‘Nazm Nazm’ and ‘Mitti Di Khushboo’. This time he has roped in for a role of a blind musician and this was not easy for him.
The actor was drawn towards the film because it was being helmed by Sriram Raghavan. Also, music is an integral part of his real; life and now it will be the same in his reel life too.
Ayushmann told PTI, “It was not easy to play this role. I know music, I can play the guitar but learnt piano from scratch…I had given a lot of time to learn it.”
He said that as Raghavan is directing for the first time, he believes in doing impromptu things. That has made things even tougher. He said that “Sriram sir demands a lot from his actors. He will give you a situation and the milieu and ask you to react to it. That is quite amazing. I am from a theatre background and so it was fun.”
He added, “It was tough as it is something new that I am trying. It was a crazy ride. I am anxious as well as excited about the film.”
Ayushmann will also be seen in another movie “Badhaai Ho” and the leading lady in this film will be Sanya Malhotra who came into the limelight with the movie Dangal.
He praised his co-star and said, “My brother and Sanya share a good bonding as they have worked together on ‘Dangal’. I remember meeting her on the sets of ‘Dangal’, she has short hair and looked very different. She is a great performer. I remember shooting an ad film with her in the past. She has started from scratch and today whatever she has achieved in her career, it is on her own.”
The movie ‘Badhaai Ho’ is directed by Amit Sharma who had also directed the movie ‘Tevar’ starring Arjun Kapoor and Sonakshi Sinha in lead roles.
This movie is something which is really different and it has a quirky one-liner which I cannot reveal at the moment,” Ayushmann added.
