Sasural Simar Ka actress Dipika Kakar got married to longtime beau and co-star Shoaib Ibrahim in a lavish desi style wedding in Bhopal a few days ago. The couple got married in a close-knit ceremony which was attended by family and friends. The wedding happened as per the Muslim rituals in Shoaib’s hometown where his parents got married decades ago.
The wedding was a three-day long affair with Haldi, Mehendi and Sangeet followed by the wedding. The couple hosted a grand reception in Mumbai’s Sea Princess Hotel. The reception was a starry affair with well-known faces from the Tv industry marking their presence to bless the beautiful couple.
Well, even before Dipika and Shoaib got hitched, a wedding card of their marriage was circulating on the social media which read Dipika instead of Faiza. This sparked the rumors about Dipika changing her name post wedding and also converting into Isla. However, there was still no official confirmation regarding the same until Dipika herself opened about it.
In her interview with a leading web portal, Dipika confirmed the news and said, “joh sach hai woh hai. It’s true I have done it, but why and when I have done it, don’t think it needs to be talked about. I think it is a very personal matter and I don’t think I need to talk about it openly in front of the media. For the audience and media we are actors have always shared everything. All our happy moments we have shared with you all, but this I think is a very personal space and I don’t give anyone the permission to enter the space. Definitely, it is true and I am not denying it. I am very happy and proud that I have done it for myself and my happiness. My family was with me in this decision and my intentions were not to hurt anyone. This is my decision.”
Further, revealing about how life has changed post her wedding with Shoaib, a happy and elated Dipika now Faiza said, “I can’t put the feelings in words. I have noticed the change from the day I have got married. I initially though it’s ok Shoaib and I have been in a relationship for so long, but no things have changed. May be the way I look at him, the respect towards him has grown. It’s a priceless feeling.”
