Sonam Kapoor has been quite outspoken and expressed her views no matter what world thinks about her. The actress has also been quite open to throw some jaw-dropping statements about her contemporaries. One of her most talked statement was about Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, where Sonam referred her as Aunty setting tongues wagging.
Since then, media speculated that there is a cold war brewing between these two divas.
In Karan Johar’s famous chat show Koffee With Karan, Sonam said that the entire controversy made her feel “really important”. Why, you ask? “Because she’s Aishwarya Rai!” Sonam then went on to add that it was blown out of proportion by the media and said, “I don’t think there was (a problem). Not from my side at least.”
And now, we hear that the duo has buried the hatchet since then.
As per the latest reports, Sonam personally invited Aishwarya to her wedding. Yes, you heard it right!
A source revealed, “Last week, when Sunita Kapoor bumped into Aishwarya at the wedding reception of Saudamini Mattu, the niece of designer Sandeep Khosla, she made it a point to greet her warmly and personally invited her for her daughter’s wedding. After a couple of days, Sonam also called Aishwarya and invited her. They chatted for a few minutes after which Aishwarya graciously accepted the invitation.”
The source further added, “While the younger Bachchans (Aishwarya, Shweta and Abhishek) have been invited by Sonam too, the older ones have also been invited by both Anil and Sunita. Weddings are special moments, it’s a time to have fun and forget the past and everybody is doing just that for Sonam’s wedding. Abhishek has worked with her in two films – Delhi 6 and Players – and both are good friends.”
The big fat wedding of Sonam and Anand will be a two-day grand affair with the pre-wedding celebrations kick-starting from 7th May which includes Mehendi and Sangeet while 8th May will witness the wedding in the afternoon which will be followed by a grand reception in the evening.
