Surveen Chawla and her husband Akshay Thakker along with her brother Mahvinder Singh have landed in a legal trouble. Satyapal Gupta, a resident of Hoshiarpur, has lodged an FIR against them, accusing the trio of committing a fraud of the aforementioned amount.
The businessman claimed that Surveen, her husband, and her brother had approached him for funds to invest in Nil Battey Sannata and promised a huge amount in return. Satyapal had lent them Rs. 40 lakh and was told that he will get a profit of Rs. 30 lakh on the amount.
However, after the film’s release, they started ignoring Satyapal’s calls and he never got his money back.
Nil Battey Sannata starred Swara Bhasker, Riya Shukla, Ratna Pathak and Pankaj Tripathi in important roles. The movie released on 22nd April 2016.
The film was jointly produced by JAR Pictures and Aanand L Rai’s Colour Yellow Productions. The movie marked the directorial debut of Dangal director Nitesh Tiwari’s wife Ashwiny Iyer Tiwari.
