Kangana Ranaut starrer Manikarnika: The Queen of Jhansi was released on January 25, a day prior to the Republic Day. A power-packed performance by Kangana has even received appreciation of critics. According to Taran Adarsh, Manikarnika started off on a dull note but people have been flocking to the threatres to see the historical drama, due to controversies surrounding the movie and also due to its sheer scale. It is based on the Indian rebellion of 1857 against the British Raj. It also a story about strength and bravery of Rani Laxmibai for an Independent India.
The biographical period drama was originally directed by Krish but the director left the project midway due to scheduling conflicts and creative differences. Later on, Kangana took over the reins.

As per a media report, Krish had said that Kangana ordered chopping out the roles of Atul Kulkarni (Tatya Tope) and Prajakta Mali (Kashibai). However, arguments ensued between the director and the actress when she wanted to kill Sonu Sood’s character at the interval point.
The screenplay of the movie is given by KV Vijayendra Prasad. The movie also features Ankita Lokhande, Jisshu Sengupta, Zeeshan Ayyub, Danny Dengzongpa, Atul Kulkarni, and Suresh Oberoi.
Now, much to the shock of fans, as well as directors and producers, the movie has been leaked by notorious piracy site Tamilrockers. The full HD movie has been leaked and is available online for illegal downloading.
However, this should not come as a surprise as Tamilrockers have also leaked Nawazuddin Siddique’s starrer film, Thackeray.
In the past too, they have leaked Uri: The Surgical Strike, The Accidental Prime Minister, Petta, and 2.0 despite a warning by the court. Earlier, the notorious website leaked mainly south Indian movies, but now they are even leaking English and Hindi movies. It is likely that the full movie download may hit the film’s box office collection. But it remains to be seen how far the extent will be.
