Praveen Teotia, The Ex-Navy Commando Who Got Shot 4 Times During 26/11 Is An Inspiration To Us All!

You all must remember Praveen Kumar Teotia, the MARCOS commando, who was a part of the third team tasked with the rescue operation at Taj Hotel during 26/11 attacks. During the battle with terrorists, Praveen suffered 4 bullet shots, that permanently damaged his hearing and lung functioning.
We recently got in touch with Mr Teotia and talked about various things, including what message he has for the youth of India. But before the interview, let’s tell you what happened when Praveen was inside the hotel, fighting terrorists.

Hailing from Bhatona village in Uttar Pradesh’s Bulandshahr, Praveen was denied a place at Indian Army due to his short stature (1.68m). Determined to serve the nation, he joined the navy in 2002, and three years after that, he decided to volunteer for the MARCOS unit. After returning from His training in Gujarat, he was to go on the leave for a few days. However, in the middle of the night, he was tasked to be a part of the rescue operation. After entering the hotel, he was soon separated from his teammates.

Teotia was partially disabled due to the injuries he suffered during the 26/11 attacks, and under Indian Navy rules, could not be considered for active duty. He was later given non-active duty by the navy which motivated him to compete for the toughest race on earth. Praveen has become India’s first Ironman after winning the prestigious Ironman Triathlon Championship 2018 in South Africa.
Take a look at his interview, where he talked about that fateful night, his struggles post injuries, and winning the Ironman title:
