But Pakistani cinema owner went through a painful loss of revenue after the collective decision. One of the cineplex manager, Ali Raza, from Rawalpindi confessed that “We stopped showing them and faced losses”.

Big Bollywood stars contribute a whole lot in revenue than Pakistani counterparts, he added. Pakistani film industry contributes a small fraction to the revenue, while the Pakistani box office is extremely dependent on Bollywood flicks. Two-thirds of Pakistani cinemas earning comes from the Indian movies.

The chairman of Pakistan’s Film Exhibitor’s Association, Zoraiz Lashari said, “It was self-imposed censorship and not an official ban. The cinema business has been hit badly and we will start screening Indian movies.”

Nadeem Mandviwalla, an owner of eight multiplexes, said, “Somebody needs to make an effort to bring things back to normalcy. We knew that this suspension was going to affect both sides of the box office, yet there was a valid reason to make that sacrifice.” The ban which was imposed on October is going to be lifted very soon.
