A bizarre and growing trend among the youth is to perform life-threatening stunts without being aware of its consequences. The craze of rooftopping, taking outrageous selfies on highrise balconies or doing spider-man-style stunts is all too common in India and elsewhere.
A similar terrifying incident involving young daredevils risking their lives has been captured on video. The group were spotted standing on the bridge in front of a large passenger train passing through a canal. With just seconds to spare, teenagers started jumping into the canal one by one.
Meanwhile, police officers have a tough time manning the tracks and stopping teenagers diving off the bridge.
As per a study, India has the dubious distinction of highest number of selfie-related deaths. Between March 2014 and September 2016, 60 per cent of all “selfie deaths”, where a person dies while trying to take a picture of themselves, occurred in India.
